Buy second-hand and have it delivered, in Berlin
How BringEasy works
- 1You pick the item
- 2You see the price up to your flat
- 3You're home when it arrives
What actually happens on the day
One continuous line: out of the seller's flat, down their stairs, across town, up your four flights.
An example with a second person the driver brings along. Often the driver comes alone: then the seller helps carry at the pickup and you at the delivery. You choose what it takes when you book.
The work starts at the front door
Any van gets it to the front door. Then come four floors without a lift, and here they are already in the price.
Four flights, no lift
You enter your floor and whether there is a lift; the seller's stairs are already counted. So you see the price to your flat before you book.
Taken apart if it has to be
A wardrobe rarely fits through a stairwell in one piece. The listing says whether it is taken apart for the move. If it says nothing, ask the seller before you buy.
As many hands as it needs
Weight, size and stairs decide how many hands it takes. If the seller helps carry at the pickup and you at the delivery, the driver comes alone. If you would rather not, the driver brings one or two more people.
Common questions
- Do I need to be at the seller's?
- No. The driver picks it up and lets you know when they are on the way. You only need to be home when they arrive, unless you said you would come along to the pickup.
- What if it doesn't fit through the stairwell?
- Check the photos and measurements before you buy. The listing says whether it is taken apart at the seller’s; if it says nothing, ask the seller before you buy. What should happen at your place, such as assembly, you say when you book.
- Who decides the price?
- The seller sets the item’s price. BringEasy suggests the transport price from the distance, the floor, the lift and the size, and on the listing you can move it. You see the amount before you pay. If you book only a transport (“Get it delivered”), you name the price yourself.
- What if something breaks?
- The driver is liable for damage. Every driver shows us business liability insurance before their first job; it pays if something happens to the building. Report damage from your booking. If damage to the item has not been settled after 14 days, BringEasy can step in voluntarily: up to the purchase price, at most 200 € per delivery.
- What does listing cost me?
- Nothing. Listing is free and you keep the full sale price.
- Do I have to help carry it?
- You decide that in the listing: “Do you help carry?” If you say yes, you carry the piece down with the driver. If you say no, the buyer comes along to the pickup, or books a second person whom the driver brings.
- How does the buyer get it?
- They book the transport with the purchase. A driver comes to your door in a time window you both see and picks it up.
- What do I see before I accept?
- The item, the floor at both ends, whether there is a lift, the vehicle size needed, who helps carry, and the price. You take it or leave it.
- When do I get paid?
- As soon as the buyer confirms the delivery, or automatically after 24 hours. The money goes to your Stripe account.
- Can I turn jobs down?
- Yes. Declining has no consequences, and there are no shifts and no minimum hours.
- What insurance do I need?
- Business liability insurance (Betriebshaftpflicht) before your first job. Goods-in-transit insurance (Verkehrshaftung) for the furniture within 30 days of it or before job 6. Private liability and car insurance do not count.
